Lancia
Founded on 29 November 1906 in Turin by Vincenzo Lancia, the Lancia brand is famous for many automotive innovations. Notably the first production car in Europe to feature a complete electrical system as standard equipment (1913). Also the first car with a monocoque-type body, the Lambda in 1922. This car also featured “Sliding Pillar“ independent front suspension that incorporated the spring and hydraulic damper into a single unit, a system that lasted on Lancia models until 1963. Lancia also premiered the first full-production V6 engine, in the 1950 Aurelia, engine also used with a bigger bore and stroke in the 3 Flaminia models that we reproduce stainless steel bumpers for. The quest for excellence, high quality standards, complexity of the construction processes and the antiqued machinery meant that all cars essentially had to be hand-made. Hence the cost of production continued to increase extensively. Sadly demand did not. In 1969 Lancia was absorbed by Fiat. -
