Archetypal Aston Martin, it is a development of the DB2 with modernized bodywork, wraparound windscreen, repositioned headlights and larger bumpers. Still boosting a Lagonda motor designed by WO Bentley some cars appeared in the Monte Carlo Rally and Mille Miglia.
Second series besides saloon and drophead also featured a fixed head coupé. They were constructed in the recently acquired Newport Pagnell location were the future DB4 would be constructed.
