Your original Dunlop calipers

Replaced by a new, all alloy / stainless steel high performance unit.

Who has never had problems with leaking or seized brake pistons after an extended shutdown? The feeling that the brakes do not bite, or a loss of power during multiple intensive braking, especially on the track or in the mountains ?

With the expert help of a specialist, Classic Parechocs offers a replacement for the original Dunlop assembly found in many sports cars of the '60s. This product being an updated  and redesigned copy of the original calipers.

Featuring a revisited exterior design inspired by the original Dunlop cylinders, they are fully equipped with today’s technology. They can be easily bolted on using the original screwholes to replace the original cylinders without complications.

Made of high quality aluminum BS2014, the set is hard anodized to ensure maximum protection against wear and corrosion and stands no comparison.

The components of the cylinder / piston have been completely redesigned and now incorporate the seal in the bore of the cylinder, as opposed to the original design where it is located on the piston itself.

The new seal position also offers greater durability in time and also great resistance to high temperatures during heavy braking due to better heat dissipation. Pedal pressure is noted to be more progressive and consistent with less effort. This is due to the suppression of the original Dunlop retraction system not needed anymore now the seal is on the cylinder, but also because there is less liquid present in the cylinder. The perfect fitting of the caliper / piston assembly returns the piston just enough to not touch the disc. This results in minimum space between disk and brake pads that reduces the formation of waterfilm during heavy rain, and also protects discs and pads of particles of stone, earth and dust being trapped.

The configuration is designed to work with modern pads that have incorporated back plates. As the cylinders are equipped with contemporary AP Racing seals, there are no compatibility nor supply problems to fear. Silicone brake fluid can be used without problems, but Lockheed DOT 5 is recommended for intensive use.

Mounted on Lancia, Ferrari, Facel Vega, Alfa Romeo, Triumph, Jaguar E-Type and MKII, Aston Martin, MG-A, Iso Rivolta, Alvis and Jensen, these brake cylinders can be supplied in the following sizes: 2 1/8 " 1 3/4 ", 1 5/8", 1 1/2 "and 1 1/4".

The caliper/piston assembly comes assembled with seals (road or race use) and dust cover, but without brake pads ! However these can be supplied on demand.

These replacement brake cylinders are FIA approved.
